Overview

IDC is hiring a Marketing Manager who will be responsible for direction-setting, content development, and execution of IDC’s field marketing strategy and tactics while expanding IDC’s brand and digital media presence in support of accelerating IDC’s growth in untapped markets/segments in Japan. 

 

The role should ideally be based in Japan and will be working closely with global, regional (APAC) and Japan senior stakeholders invested in delivering our desired business outcomes for Japan. Alternatively, this role can be based outside of Japan if candidate has a strong grasp and comprehension of both English and Japanese language.

 

This role will report to the VP Marketing for Asia/Pacific Japan.

Responsibilities

  • Demand Generation: Plan, manage and execute marketing campaigns aimed at generating new logos and upsell/cross-sell opportunities for subscription, custom and event sponsorships in Japan in collaboration with global/regional field, corporate, product marketing. This spans events, email marketing, paid search, social marketing, and content, with a focus on generating qualified leads and engagement in alignment with our global strategy.
  • Marketing Events: Plan, organize and execute events to position IDC as a thought leader and generate sales leads from physical and virtual events. This role will be responsible for maintaining the thought leadership event schedule to ensure activities are paced properly and are sustainable.
  • Local Market Knowledge: Help identify key growth areas and take the initiative to recommend strategic plans and actions that are aligned with our global strategy and desired business outcomes for Japan.
  • Digital and Search Optimisation: Collaborate with global/region in planning, execution and creation of content that will increase visibility for idc.com/jp and bring in high-quality traffic that converts to leads for Sales.
  • Social Media Community Management: Execute the social media strategy to expand reach and improve engagement through various channels (current assets: Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube).
  • Branding and Collaterals: Aid in the creation of Sales and Marketing materials that are consistent with brand messaging and visuals (website, case studies, testimonials, social media assets, infographics, backdrop, collaterals, brochures, corporate gifts, etc.). Help ensure that local marketing activities align with global branding initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of marketing experience in B2B Marketing (SaaS, ITaaS, AI, Security, preferred).
  • Professional fluency in both Japanese and English both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of digital and traditional marketing channels.
  • Understanding of localization and how cultural perspective can influence go-to-market plans.
  • Experience in social community management is an advantage.
  • Good stakeholder management and ability to work well with a wide spectrum of audience (e.g. public, management and analysts).
  • Strong project management skills required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
