About the Role & Team
International Data Corporation (IDC) seeks an experienced professional to join Asia/Pacific's leading technology research team as an Associate Editor based in our Philippines office (choice of remote or hybrid work mode). Reporting directly to the Asia/Pacific Publishing Director and working closely with IDC Japan’s Production/Publishing team, this role focuses on coordination and communication, administration, formatting, metrics tracking, workload assignment, and workflow management for deliverables coming from IDC Japan. This role provides the candidate an opportunity to interact with IDC Japan’s research community. Japanese editing skills are not required; however, the ability to communicate in Japanese—both verbally and via email—is essential, in addition to English proficiency. What You’ll Do
- Process incoming documents from IDC Japan: Ensure compliance with IDC quality standards, research architecture, style, and publishing guidelines.
- Manage document workflow and assignments: Assign documents to editors (including contractors), monitor progress, and ensure service-level agreements are met.
- Create and format Japanese-language decks and documents: Prepare draft slides or documents and format tables/figures (e.g., IDC MarketScape bubble charts) per IDC requirements.
- Coordinate with IDC Japan and global teams: Communicate on publication guidelines, schedules, and processes; provide training and guidance as needed.
- Use AI tools for verification and data checks: Validate Japanese proper nouns (vendor/service names) and perform accuracy checks efficiently.
- Generate team metrics and handle administrative tasks: Update schedules, archive documents, manage content systems, and assist with training module updates.
- Perform other publishing-related tasks as assigned: Support senior editors and the publishing director with additional responsibilities.

- JLPT N1 or N2 level (or equivalent) is preferred.

- Experience with publishing processes and proficiency in document formatting tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, slide/document authoring tools).
- High attention to detail and ability to perform accuracy checks using AI tools.
- Practical experience with AI tools for content verification or data checks (e.g., ChatGPT, translation AI).
Data and Analytical Skills
