About the Role & Team

IDC's China is looking for the Events Head, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering some of the country's most influential technology conferences and summits.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate, client-focused events professional with at least 5 years of experience in managing B2B conferences and exhibitions. Based in Beijing, the candidate will work alongside a skilled, collaborative, and fun team of event experts who bring IDC's vision to life in China. The role requires the candidate to be responsible for managing the events that are scheduled to take place within China.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of conferences and summits across China.
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients, and sponsors to develop compelling agendas and event experiences.
  • Manage relationships with venues, vendors, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Monitor profitability, track event KPIs, and ensure events meet both client expectations and IDC standards.
  • Utilize social media and digital tools to support event marketing and drive audience engagement.
  • Be a team player who contributes to a collaborative, high-energy environment and inspires  colleagues. 

What You Bring

  • has minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience in managing B2B conferences, preferably within the technology, consulting, or media industries.
  • Proven track record in client-facing roles, event budgeting, and multi-event project management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms for event marketing and engagement.
  • Experience with virtual/hybrid event platforms (e.g., CVENT, Hopin, On24) and live streaming technologies.
  • Open to travel for events and Support regional teams outside China when needed, based on event priorities.
