About the Role & Team

We seek an experienced graphic designer to join our global market intelligence firm. The successful candidates will develop high-quality, engaging graphics assets for research reports focused on Information Technology markets. You will produce visuals that meet the high standards of IDC’s technology buyer and supplier clients, ensuring clarity, consistency, and professionalism in every deliverable. The role requires a strong ability to translate complex technical data and concepts into clear, visually compelling conceptual diagrams, infographics, and other visual elements supporting market intelligence narratives.

What You’ll Do

 

  • Create Visual Assets:
    • Design infographics, diagrams, icons, and other graphical elements for research reports and presentations.
    • Ensure visual clarity and brand consistency in style across all deliverables.
    • Ensure visuals are accessible, scalable, and suitable for multiple formats.
  • Information Visualization:
    • Translate technical data and research findings into easy-to-understand visuals, using best practices from consulting and research firms to ensure insights are easy to understand and actionable.
  • Collaboration:
    • Partner with research analysts, content authors, and project managers to align graphics with report narratives, brand guidelines, and client needs.
    • Incorporate feedback and iterate on designs to achieve the highest quality output.
  • Design Software Proficiency:
    • Use industry-standard design tools and related software to create and edit graphics.
  • Project Management:
    • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously while meeting client deadlines and internal service level agreements.
  • Stay Current with Industry Trends:
    • Keep up to date with the latest design trends and tools in technical content visualization, including AI-powered graphic creation and interactive report features.

 

What You Bring

  • Experience:
    • 3 – 5 years of demonstrated experience creating infographics and data visualizations for technical or business topics, ideally within market research, consulting, or technology sectors.

A portfolio featuring work that meets the visual standards of leading market research, consulting, or technology firms.

  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in commonly used graphic design tools and Microsoft M365 software suite (including PowerPoint).
  • Design Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and color theory.
    • Experience working with style guides and design systems.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into clear, engaging visuals.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with Information Technology markets and terminology is a plus.
