About the Role & Team
The Event Specialist, Audience development is responsible for driving attendee registrations and qualified audience growth for IDC’s executive events portfolio (in-person and virtual). This role leads multi-channel acquisition strategy and execution—email, paid media, partners, SDR/BD alignment, and social—ensuring the right senior decision-makers attend the right programs. You will own registration performance against targets, optimize campaigns using data, and collaborate closely with events, sales, content, analysts, and sponsors.
What You’ll Do
- Own attendee acquisition targets for assigned events (registrations, attendance rate, seniority mix, title/account quality).
- Develop high-performing invitation messaging (subject lines, copy, landing page content) tailored to C-level and senior audiences by industry.
- Build and execute multi-touch acquisition plans across email, LinkedIn, paid media, partners, and outbound alignment.
- Manage segmentation and targeting: job titles, personas, industries, account lists, regions, and suppression logic.
- Drive sponsor/partner alignment on outreach: co-branded campaigns, partner lists, referral tracking, and follow-up motion.
- Monitor performance daily (open/click/convert, source attribution, CPL where relevant) and run A/B tests to improve conversion.
- Maintain strong data hygiene: lead status, attendee fields, opt-ins, bounce management, and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with event producers on capacity management, waitlists, qualification workflows, and last-mile confirmations.
- Create weekly dashboards and post-event reporting: what worked, what didn’t, and scalable learnings for future programs.
- Support audience development improvements across tools/processes (automation, templates, playbooks).
- 50% travel onsite for event as and when required.
What You Bring
- 3+ years experience in B2B audience acquisition / demand gen / event marketing (enterprise preferred).
- Proven ability to hit registration and attendance targets for executive events.
- Strong copywriting skills for C-level invitations and multi-touch nurture campaigns.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation and CRM (e.g., Marketo/Eloqua/Pardot/HubSpot + Salesforce or similar).
- Data-driven mindset: ability to interpret performance metrics, build insights, and optimize quickly.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to work cross-functionally with sales, content, and partners.
