About the Role & Team

 

The Team Leader, Audience Development – Malaysia will lead a dynamic team responsible for driving delegate and attendee acquisition for IDC’s events across Southeast Asia. This role combines leadership, strategy, and execution — ensuring each event attracts the right mix of senior IT and business leaders, delivering exceptional value to clients and sponsors.
What You’ll Do

 

  • Lead and mentor the Audience Development team to meet regional attendee targets.
  • Develop and execute strategic acquisition campaigns across email, digital, and direct outreach channels.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and content teams to define audience segmentation and value propositions.
  • Establish KPIs and performance tracking metrics for acquisition effectiveness.          
  • Oversee data management, CRM optimization, and quality control for audience lists.  
  • Provide insights and reporting on attendance trends, conversion rates, and engagement levels.                                                                                                                              
  • Represent the region in cross-functional collaboration with other IDC markets to ensure best practices.

What You Bring

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Communications (Master’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in B2B event marketing or audience acquisition, with at least 2–3 years in a team leadership role.                                                                                   
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo) and data-driven marketing approaches.                                                                                               
  • Proven success in building and leading high-performance teams.                                 
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.                                              
  • Results-oriented, strategic, and collaborative mindset.                                                          
  • Travel requirement: 10–15% (for events across Malaysia/Southeast Asia).                        
  • Work Model: Hybrid, based in Kuala Lumpur.
