About the Role & Team
IDC is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the COE group. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on several of IDC's COE programs, including tablets, notebook PCs, monitors, and TVs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive market research, analyzing data, and delivering strategic foresight to support our business growth. We are looking for someone who is deep-rooted in display technologies and manufacturing processes, with a proven ability to interpret complex data, detect underlying patterns, and synthesize mixed quantitative and qualitative intelligence. By applying strong structured thinking and organizational skills, you will transform multi-sourced data into actionable, high-impact recommendations.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct primary industry research to gather and analyze data for large panel shipments, industry dynamics, and product development trends.
- Develop, expand, and maintain a network of contacts with panel makers' upstream suppliers and downstream vendors.
- Monitor and evaluate competitor products, pricing strategies, and market positioning.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all program deliverables.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings to IDC internal teams and clients.
- Develop supply and demand forecasts and predictive models by utilizing statistical methods and tools to anticipate panel prices and future trends.
- Maintain and update databases with relevant market data and research findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customized models. Including the consulting team to support custom projects when required.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of industry or market research experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Business Administration, or Strategy Management with a strong understanding of display technologies and market or industry analysis.
- Capable of designing and conducting primary research, including creating surveys, conducting interviews, and cross-checking the numbers.
- Skilled in analyzing complex datasets and developing predictive models.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and report preparation.
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills to effectively present.
- Efficient in managing multiple research projects and meeting deadlines. Excellent problem-solving.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills required. Familiarity with GenAI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, or Gemini.
- The ability to use Python for data analysis, including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and Plotly, is advantageous.
