Overview

About the Role & Team
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our China Market research team, focusing on Consumer Electronics and ICT — specifically PC (desktop, notebook, workstation) and smartphone/tablet markets. This role will independently build and iterate market research frameworks, lead value-chain competitive analysis, and author strategic industry reports and whitepapers. Approximately 40-50% of time will be client-facing, driving client relationships, business development, and commercial conversion of research insights into sellable products.

What You’ll Do

  1. Build and continuously refine a systematic market research framework for PC (desktop, notebook, workstation) and smartphone/tablet markets; lead competitive landscape analysis across chipset platforms, ODM/OEM, brands, and channels.
  2.  Author annual/quarterly industry reports, whitepapers, and thematic studies to support internal and client-side strategic decisions. Design and maintain a multi-dimensional market database integrating diverse data sources; independently develop market forecasting models (sizing, share projection, scenario analysis). Utilize Python for data processing automation and complex analytical workflows; provide quality review and methodology guidance to junior team members.
  3. Serve as key point of contact for core clients — independently lead meetings, proposals, and deliverables (~40-50% client-facing time); drive renewals and upsells.
  4. Partner with sales across the full new-client development cycle (needs discovery, proposal design, negotiation); translate market insights into sellable research products.
  5. Represent the firm at industry events and in media; collaborate with global/regional research teams to ensure international standards with local relevance.

What You Bring

  1. Master’s degree preferred in Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Electronic Information, Computer Science, or related fields
  2. 5+ years of experience in market research, industry analysis, strategy consulting, or related fields, with at least 2 years focused on PC, smartphone/tablet, or ICT sectors
  3. Proficient in Excel (data modeling, Power Query, VBA), PowerPoint (executive-level presentations), and Python for data processing and automation
  4. Strong business acumen with verifiable BD or business development experience; able to present complex analysis to C-level clients in both Chinese and English
  5. Adaptable, self-driven, with strong problem-solving abilities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced research environment
  6. ~20% travel required for client visits and industry events, 100% On-site (Beijing)
