About the Role & Team
IDC is seeking a Data Analyst to join the consumer device team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the monitor markets. The candidate will be responsible for data creation and fieldwork, analysis and quality control, and customer support. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to interpret complex data from both quantitative and qualitative sources, ask inquisitive questions, and deliver meaningful insights
What You’ll Do
- Conducting analysis, data creation, and research on monitor and thin client sales trends each quarter, including forecasts and qualitative reports
- Help coordinate operations and ensure quality among countries in the Asia/Pacific region for monitors and thin clients each quarter
- Ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of all program deliverables
- Engaging in marketing activities including media engagements where appropriate
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop customized market models when needed
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance/economics, statistics, or engineering with a strong understanding of economic principles and their application to market analysis
- 2+ years of work experience, preferably in the market research or technology industry. Experience or interest in the devices sector is preferred
- High attention to detail in data creation, analysis, and report preparation. Skilled in analyzing datasets and developing predictive models.
- Efficient in managing multiple research projects and meeting deadlines. Excellent in problem-solving while working in a team-based environment.
- Capable of conducting primary research, including in-person interviews and an ability to build relationships over time
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills. Additional business language skills in Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese is a big bonus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. PowerBI, Python, and other technical skills are a bonus but not required.
- Hybrid work model with occasional travel
