About the Role & Team

In this position, we are looking for an analyst to lead application software market research, especially in mid-tier vendors area. The analyst has an assist for “Worldwide Semiannual Software Tracker” in Japan potion. The analyst will conduct ongoing research and analysis of trends in the application software market in Japan and provide customers with the deep knowledge and insights gained. In addition, the analyst will work with global and Asia-Pacific analysts in software market to contribute IDC's thought leadership in this market from a Japanese perspective. And we also expect the analyst to provide support as an analyst to mid-tier clients.

What You’ll Do

• Planning and execution of research on application software and writing research reports. Additionally, conducting market estimates and forecasts for data products of the software market.
• The research covers the overall Japanese application software market, especially in mid-tier vendors area.
• The research will include market forecasts, vendor share analysis, and user company demand surveys, as well as interviews with IT suppliers and user companies, quantitative research such as web surveys, and research of secondary data.
• Business development of cloud related subscription and custom services

Other responsibilities:

- Presentation at the external events regarding cloud market, presentation at IDC's events, engagement in consulting projects

- Collaboration with overseas analysts for research and business development

- Relationship establishment with cloud solution vendors

What You Bring

1. The candidates with practical experience in application software development and implementation support, product marketing, and/or business planning at application software vendors, system integrators, or consulting firms, and who possess knowledge of application software Alternatively, candidates with experience in selecting and implementing software vendors, or in planning and managing systems at client companies, and who possess knowledge of application software products and solutions, are also eligible.
   
2. English proficiency: Basic conversation, e-mail communication (read and write)
3. Japanese: native level (reading, writing, and speaking)
4. PC skill: Excel (pivot table creation/utilization skill), Word, PowerPoint
5. College graduate or above
