About the Role & Team

Join IDC as an Event Project Specialist and play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact technology events across the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific region. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, detail-oriented professional to bring ideas to life, manage end-to-end event execution, and create exceptional experiences for senior technology leaders, industry experts, and global technology partners. Working at the intersection of project management, marketing, budgeting and supplier management, you will collaborate with diverse teams across markets, take ownership of event logistics and deliverables, and contribute directly to the success, growth, and revenue objectives of IDC’s events portfolio. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving challenges, and love seeing your work make a tangible impact, this role offers the perfect platform to grow your career in a dynamic, international business environment.

The Event Project Specialist is a key member of the IDC Events team, helping plan and deliver the IDC event portfolio from the first brief through post-event wrap-up. Working closely with the Hiring Manager, Marketing, Research, Sales, and external vendors, this role keeps event projects on schedule, on budget, and aligned with IDC’s brand standards. It is an exciting opportunity for an organized, detail-minded professional to own the details behind high-visibility events, build relationships with analysts, speakers, sponsors, and clients, and directly shape the experience of IDC’s audience. The position offers hands-on exposure to the full event lifecycle in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, with a hybrid work model.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and coordinate end-to-end logistics for IDC events (in-person, virtual, and hybrid), from concept and scoping through post-event wrap-up.
  • Manage event project plans, timelines, and budgets, tracking progress and flagging risks to your Manager early.
  • Source, negotiate with, and manage venues, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring contracts and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Sales, and internal teams to align event content, agendas, speakers, and promotion.
  • Manage agenda, website updates and on-site experience, including speaker and analyst support, branding, giveaways and activations.
  • Maintain event data and reporting, prepare post-event reports and de-brief calls.
  • Ensure all events follow IDC brand, quality, and compliance standards, and capture lessons learned to improve future events.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality or Event Management, or a related field. Event or project management certification is a plus.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in Tech Conferences is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with event registration, website content management, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools. Strong budgeting, vendor negotiation, and project planning skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate across regions and time zones.
  • Travel: up to 20–25% for on-site event delivery, depending on the event calendar.
  • Work model: Hybrid.
